NICOLA PIOVAN AWARDED ORDER OF MERIT FOR LABOUR

22/10/2019
Rome, Italy

On 22 October 2019, at the Quirinal Palace in Rome, President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella nominated Nicola Piovan with the title of "Cavaliere del Lavoro" (Knight of Labour), Italy’s highest civilian honour. This significant form of recognition bears witness to the Piovan family’s constant dedication - for over 50 years - to the growth of the company.

Customers, People, Innovation. These pillars of our philosophy have allowed us to grow along a path that was chosen over 50 years ago, pursuing our objectives for development honestly, with integrity and transparency. Principles that we have been true to for three generations – says Mr. Nicola Piovan, President of PiovanGroup.

Our history has roots far back in time, but deep and always vital. In 1934, in Padova, Costante Piovan & Figli opened a high precision mechanics workshop. In 1964, Luigi Piovan introduced the first auxiliary equipment for the processing of polymers to the Italian market.

Under Nicola Piovan’s business strategy, the company becomes a global leader in the development and production of auxiliary automation systems for storage, conveying and processing of polymers, plastic and food powders with 8 production facilities, 31 services and sale companies, and a distribution network that covers about 70 countries and 1050 collaborators commited to the development and the future of the Group.

The “Order of Merit for Labour” is one of the most exclusive orders of knighthood. Established in 1901, the title "Cavaliere del Lavoro" is awarded to Italian business people every year, as part of Italy’s Republic Day celebrations. The knights come from varied sectors, such as agriculture, industry, trade, tourism and services, crafts, and credit and insurance institutions.
