On 6 July, the Piovan Academy organised for its customers the event "Recycled Plastic for High-Quality Packaging", the first theoretical and practical course, in the classroom and in the laboratory of the Innovation Centre. Objective: to provide the customers of the Group, which is a leader in the transition towards the use of recycled polymers, with the technological skills necessary to obtain quality packaging from post-consumer polymers.

Thirty-five participants attended the first free training day organised by the Piovan Academy at the HQ in Santa Maria di Sala and addressed to customer companies in the North and Central Italy area. In particular, to Technical Managers, Operations Managers, Research and Development Managers, Quality Managers, Maintenance and Plant Managers and technical-operational figures in general.
The course - entirely new in the industry landscape - delved into the issues surrounding the use of recycled polymers and provided customers with the necessary tools to recognise problems and adopt solutions in the treatment of post-consumer recycled granule.

In the classroom the problems of the treatment and processing of post-consumer recycled polymers and the best proprietary technological solutions that PiovanGroup has developed to achieve high quality packaging were presented. In the laboratory of the Innovation Centre at the Piovan S.p.A. plant, practical demonstrations were carried out with specific tools that can be used in the production line - e.g. screening of the recycled material for contaminants or odours - and supervision systems. Supervision is an important step in the production process as it ensures control, traceability and integration of the entire process.

"Recycled Plastic for High-Quality Packaging" was the first course of the Piovan Academy aimed at this target group. Given the success of the initiative, the courses will be repeated and extended to companies not only from Italy, taking into account the Group's international scope of operations.
