Piovan has introduced a range with small, medium and large granulators. The line is set to satisfy recycling needs throughout the plastics sector. The granulators are fitted with a tangential cutting system and guarantees energy savings between 15% and 35% depending on the application. According to Piovan, the line has an optimised energy utilisation: drop from the industry standard of 40 Wh/kg to the new Piovan standard of 25 Wh/kg.
The rotary blades are inclined with respect to the fixed blades and are positioned as close as possible to the geometric tangent of the cutting circle, therefore optimising and improving cutting precision. According to the company, higher production capacities are achieved using smaller motors, with the additional benefit of minimising dust production and heat generation ensuring a more regular cut and more dimensionally consistent regrind. Piovan introduces the granulator N35-60 which features a 90° adjustable hopper for four loading positions as well as a single-shaft shredder line for recovering purgings from start-ups or material replacements during the transformation process.
The Piovan range of single-shaft shredders includes four different models, each with a hopper from 600×600 mm (23.6”) to 1500×1500 mm (59”).
