MECHANICAL
Job Summary:
This position supports the efforts of the Engineering department by creating and editing drawings of structural machinery and components in both 3D and 2D environments and supporting manufacturing and R&D efforts by assisting with changes to parts, physically and within the MRP system, SAP. Further details and functions listed below.
Roles/Responsibilities:
- Assist with the layout and drawing of schematic, angle views for mechanical machinery, component parts, and controls, according to engineering sketches.
- Assist with the layout and drawing of schematic angle views to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and machines.
- Assists with creation of sheet metal CAD models from existing 2D drawings
- Assists with providing technical input to troubleshoot fabrication issues on the Manufacturing Shop;
- Provides manufacturing Shop departments with accurate information for manufacture of structural machinery and component parts.
- Assists with the revision of designs to correct operating deficiencies and/or to reduce fabrication error of fabricated component parts.
- Assists with updating bill-of-materials and other part information in SAP to complete revision updates
- Checks parts for correct dimensions and fit, with guidance from Designers and Engineers
Interfaces with internal customers to design, layout, or detail components and systems.
Qualifications:
- • Must be actively enrolled in an accredited engineering degree program and have a 3.0 GPA or higher. A Mechanical Engineering Degree is most applicable, however, students pursuing an Applied Associates Degree in Engineering or degrees in Chemical or Systems Engineering will also be considered.
- • Solid Works (preferred), AutoCAD or Draftsight
ELECTRICAL
Job Summary:
This position supports the efforts of the Engineering department by creating and editing drawings of electrical schematics and panel layouts for Electromechanical Machinery and structural machinery and components in both 3D and 2D environments. The position also supports manufacturing and R&D efforts by assisting with changes to parts, physically and within the MRP system, SAP.
Roles/Responsibilities:
- Assist with the drawing of schematics, panel layouts, component parts, and bill of materials, according to engineering sketches.
- Assists the senior engineer with identifying inefficiencies in production workflow and helps to identify measures to improve production efficiency
- Assists with providing technical input to troubleshoot fabrication issues on the Manufacturing Shop;
- Assists with the revision of designs to correct operating deficiencies and/or to reduce fabrication error of fabricated component parts.
- Assists with updating bill-of-materials and other part information in SAP to complete revision updates
- Assists with updating Quality Assurance checklists
- Assists senior engineer with updating PLC programming, HMI programming, and Drives documentation.
Qualifications:
- Must be actively enrolled in an accredited engineering degree program and have a 3.0 GPA or higher. An Electrical Engineering Degree is most applicable, however, students pursuing an Applied Associates Degree in Engineering or degrees in Computer Science or Systems Engineering will also be considered.
