Roles/ Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of engineered-to-order equipment design
- Assist with Design for manufacture and production
- Delegate and direct the activities of the department’s engineers, drafts people and, programmers as required to meet scheduling
- Recommends establishment and modifications to project team structure to direct effective completion of assigned projects
- Manages multi-functional resources to meet technical performance, cost and schedule commitments
- Ensures projects are completed on schedule, within budget and meets technical requirements of the assignment
- Assures proper scheduling of orders through engineering to meet manufacturing/shipping schedules
- Provides technical support services (i.e. design, drafting, CNC programming, electrical design, etc.) for development engineering projects
- Assures maintenance of engineering Standards—GD drawings, standard equipment manufacturing drawings, change order documentation, BOM, Config & Spec sheets, and manuals
- Maintain and execute the department’s work instructions
- Takes the lead in defining and scheduling training and development of engineering employees
- Interface with customer(s) to ascertain and meet their needs
- Uses engineering/design productivity tools (i.e., AutoCad,) to prepare or delegate preparation of computer-generated drawings from own layouts, rough sketches or concepts
- Direct performance evaluation process for Engineering group
- Ensures staff adherence to health and safety regulations
- Proficiently works under the VA/ VE methodology
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or similar. Master’s degree highly preferred
- 5 years relative experience and 3 years in a leadership role is required
- Training or education in business/leadership also desirable
- SAP knowledge/ familiarity
